Chemicals & solvents
Solvent wipe-down, oils, cleaning chemicals, splash.
The face stock rarely fails first; the print surface and the adhesive edge do. A solvent-resistant adhesive holds the bond and an overlaminate keeps the ink from smearing under repeated wipe-downs. The exact film depends on the chemical and how long it sits, so we spec it to your application.

Motors, ovens, exhaust components, engines.
Standard permanent acrylic starts to release around 200 degrees F. For anything near a heat source, a high-temperature adhesive on a polyester or polyimide face stock keeps the label attached and readable. Tell us the continuous and peak temperatures and we match the construction.

Outdoor & UV
Outdoor equipment, vehicles, sun and weather exposure.
Sunlight fades ink and weather works the adhesive edge. UV-stable inks under a protective overlaminate keep the print from washing out, and a weather-rated adhesive keeps the label down through freeze-thaw and rain. We build outdoor labels to hold their legibility for years, not months.

Abrasion & handling
Rough handling, conveyor contact, pressure washing, scuffing.
A label can hold its bond and still go unreadable if the print rubs off. An overlaminate or hard topcoat protects the image, and an aggressive adhesive keeps it anchored on textured or low-energy surfaces where a standard adhesive peels at the corner.

Cryogenic & freezer
Cold storage, lab freezers, deep-freeze logistics.
In deep cold, a standard adhesive turns brittle and lets go at the edges. A freezer-grade adhesive on a polyester face stock keeps the label attached and legible for cold-storage and lab identification that has to stay put and stay scannable.

Asset & equipment tags
Durable tags that track machinery, tools, and equipment through maintenance and inventory. Barcodes or QR codes carry the asset number; the material carries the years.

What label materials are chemical-resistant?
Polyester (PET) and polypropylene face stocks paired with solvent-resistant adhesives are the standard for chemical environments. For extreme chemical exposure, we offer vinyl and specialty films. The right choice depends on the specific chemicals, concentrations, and exposure duration, so we recommend the construction to prevent label failure in your environment.
Do you produce OSHA and GHS safety labels?
Yes. We produce OSHA HazCom 2012 / GHS-compliant chemical hazard labels with the required GHS pictograms, signal words (DANGER, WARNING, CAUTION), and hazard statements. We also produce ANSI Z535-compliant safety labels for machinery and equipment in durable polyester or vinyl.
What is the maximum temperature a label can withstand?
Standard permanent acrylic adhesives are rated to roughly 200 degrees F. High-temperature adhesives handle continuous exposure up to 300 degrees F and intermittent peaks to 400-500 degrees F, paired with a polyester face stock that is rated higher than paper or BOPP. Specify both the continuous and peak temperatures when requesting a quote so we build the right construction.
